UPDATE: Will Groton's 4th of July Parade Be Cancelled Due to Tropical Storm Arthur?

The 4th of July parade in Groton has been canceled due to the weather forecast.


There is no rain date, according to the message on the Groton Parks & Rec automated phone system.

Groton's 4th of July parade is scheduled for Friday, July 4, and with Tropical Storm Arthur sending stormy weather our way, folks are wondering if the parade will still take place.

"There is no rain date for the parade — either it happens on July 4th or not," Jerry Løkken, Manager of Recreation Services with Groton Parks and Recreation said via email. "A final decision will be made by 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning."
