Put Johnny Kelley where it makes sense...

Instead of Johnny Kelley being hidden...why not pop that statue where people will have fun?

Dear Groton Patch and Residents of Mystic/Groton, Re: Statue of Johnny Kelley and that big oversized green fountain/planter that holds no water nor plants...

Why don't we simply put Johnny's statue down there by Bank Square Books, as he was a avid reader, writer and teacher along with being a runner and coach, etc., and pop that planter/fountain...thing in the middle of the little park they're trying to create?

Picture the planter in the middle with seating all around it, so people can come and relax in the shade. It kind of reminds me of a mini nano central park; rocks, trees, fountain, seating, etc.

Then picture lithe Johnny standing right there in downtown...making it fun for tourist to get their pictures taken next to him, etc. We can even dress him up for the holidays. This makes sense visually and aesthetically all the way around.

Would love feedback.

Peace & :)
