Community Update

To:  Superintendent of Groton Schools
We, as taxpayers, are deeply concerned regarding the (now) 3rd DUI of the Transportation Coordinator for the BOE.
As taxpayers, and paying for her position as Transportation Coordinator, we request her immediate dismissal or acceptance of her resignation, as the only recourse.  There are a multitude of much more qualified applicants that actually have no criminal record or addiction to alcohol.
The position she holds, and a major contradiction in the very title "transportation", repeated offenses incurred, demonstrating a great lack of respect for the children in her charge, their parents, and her job, proves most injurious to the reputation of the Groton School System.
Her alcohol consumption and lack of respect for every child, every parent who has placed their trust in this individual, is not just an unacceptable ritual with her, but a crime sure to be repeated.  How many more times?  Is 3 not enough to show her incapable of doing her job?
If she cannot manage her own time soberly behind the wheel, how in the world can she make decisions for our children?

If she cannot drive herself without abusing alcohol (and abusing our trust) , with repeatedly getting caught, how many other times was she driving drunk and not caught?  This begs the question, is she drunk at work as well?  Does this alcohol abuse carryover into meetings with Spec Ed children and their parents?  It is highly suspect that her disregard for, and serious unavailability by any means of communication with the BOE employees in her charge, could be alcohol related.  Leaving her job early daily could also be alcohol-related.
For the good of all concerned, the reputation of the Groton Schools, and as a taxpayer, she needs to pay the consequences for her actions, and be removed immediately.  Her addiction is neither the responsibility of the taxpayers nor our expense, rather her own personal problem she needs to work out on her own time, at her own expense and especially, away from any children.
