I chose Groton for private school.

I am tired of hearing that people come to Groton for their great schools. My family did chose to move  to Groton but not for it's public school system but for its private school Sacred Heart. We have lived in Groton for 22 yrs and have never had a child in the public schools If we would have based our settling on a school system it would never have been Groton. If we decided to go public it would have been the best choice to move to East Lyme. I think the Board of Ed should start looking at why East Lyme school system is so well liked and appealing for families and where Groton has gone wrong. Now that the kids are all grown and gone and we are looking towards our future Groton is the last place we want to be. Our main reasoning behind our decision is due to the never ending tax  hikes all for wasteful spending. I can think of alot better things to do with our hard earned money than throw it away on Groton taxes.
