People only see what they want to see based on their political beliefs.
The facts are that President Obama isn't an effective leader for the liberal Democrats or the conservative Republicans. His inexperience with getting congressman together on proposals shows immensely. He is divisive and doesn'tt understand that promoting class warfare between the rich and poor does nothing to promote cohesiveness. President Obama did not deliver his promises to the liberal Democrats - government lealthcare, social reform,, higher taxes on the rich, reduction to the military budget, ending the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, clean energy jobs and a robust economy. President Obama has galvanized the conservatives in the Tea Party movement and the middle class. The unemployment rate is over 9.0% in the country. Most voters disapprove of the $1.7 Trillion dollar bail out stimulus package. Many people feel money has been wasted by giving the majority of ithe stumulus money to the largest banks on Wall Street who got us into this mess in 2008. President Obama will rate as one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States ibecause of the huge debt that he has amassed. The country has over $7 trillion dollars in debt, equivalent to $33,000 for every man, woman and child in this country. Can we survive his ineffective leadership another four more years? Most people I know are very disappointed in the direction of the country and are looking for a change for the better.

A better question to ask is if we can survive the republicans of congress until their term is up, its their fault that obama can't get anything done. OBAMA 2012!! and vote out the idiot republicans.

What a great way to insult the memory of FDR. God help America. Screw the president

Love the FOX talking points in these posts. The best line so far is that "Gingrich Is The Stupid Man's Idea Of What A Smart Person Sounds Like" People like Riccio, Erhart and Yannacci Sr. just show uninformed they are. Hey guys, instead of only getting your information from FOX news, how about learning some true facts. Can't really understand why middle class Americans would want the Republicans to run anything. Everything they stand for is for the top 1% wealthy in the US. (psst. not you )

Do you read the news ?. Do you pay attention to whats going on around you? Do you work?.. Do you pay taxes?..Do you pay for your own heat and food?..Do you own a small business? Were you ever in the military? Did you finish High School? If you do any of these things you should love anyone other than obama... and if you dont, then you are standing there with your hands out taking whatever you can get for free and in a union...Then obama is your man

In the past people could diasgree without being disagreeable. Liberals want us to be tolrerant and accept people with differing opinions.
As long as it is the same as theirs. Now it seems that ithere is no longer a discussion but is aceptable to minimalize the statements of anyone with an opinion different from their own. If you believe the country is better off than 5 years ago than keep it going in that direction. If you belive that President Obama an effective leader, vote for him again. Vote for all Democrats and give the president to have a mandate to do what ever he wishes. Keep watching MSNBC, the official news channel of the Democratic National Party. I say Democrats can work with Republicans, If we do not, in 10 years this country will be like European nations like Greece and Italy. Bankrupt and unable to provide jobs for its citizens. So sad.

When you look at what the President accomplished in his first two years, he does not get the credit he deserves. It was not a veto proof Senate so the Republicans did have some clout. The President tried to work with them but they chose not to support the compromises until after the mid term election. Since the Rs have taken the House and gotten more powerful in the Senate, we have the "Do Nothing" Congress. I believe the President's one mistake was not to support the Simpson Bowles Commission report when it first came out. That report was anathema to both the far right and the far left. It may not have passed Congress but Obama would be in better shape in the polls today. He is fortunate that he has to run against a specific Republican. If it is Romney, there are plenty of issues to use to contrast their records. If it is Gingrich, there are even more. Even so, the President will have his work cut out for him since the unemployment rate is still over eight percent.

Some day people will realize that if we keep the "us versus them" mentalilty in politics, our nation's divide will only get worse. Both parties have good leaders. Both parties have poor leaders. Problem is very simple. Politicians usually ....and I say usually, get into politics for a good reason. But once there, most...yes I said most...not all.....become all about money and power and no longer work for the people. Our elections are bought, not won. Term limits on all offices. Get in, do what ya can, then get out. 10 year max on all offices. New people, new ideas and less divide. Work together.....right or left....who cares.....in the middle is where everything get accomplished.

Wealth is only created by producing something - the product of hands, minds or both. Government regulation forces people to spend a lot of time in non-productive labor to meet these regulations. Transfer of wealth from producers to non-producers is counter-productive. The transfer of money from those who earn it by producing goods and services to those who do not earn it in this way is indeed going to make the USA the next Greece.
A free person owns his/her body and mind and the wealth that he-she creates with them. A slave is someone who does not own the value that his/her mind and body produce, but instead is forced to produce for the benefit of others. The distinction between a free person and a slave is what we will be debating in 2011. Even if President Obama was capable of understanding the basics of wealth creation and the difference between slavery versus freedom (he can't, because his mind refuses to accept these simple truths that are the foundation of our government as it was designed to operate), I doubt that he could change course. The man is a wholly-owned-and-operated subsidiary of the hopelessly corrupt labor unions and business interests that purchased him, and is forced to placate them and the over-the-cliff lefties that will vote for him no matter what. The USA is "going Galt" in 2012

For the working middle class, our current president has done nothing but burden us with more social programs and amassing debt that we must fund through increasing taxes. Has any one of his supporters actually even taken notice of the social and economic landscape changes since he took office?
Unless you are on the government dole (and there have been an increasing number of those since he took office), there is no fiscally responsible reason you should support this marxist-leaning president for a second term. OBAMA - One Big A$$ Mistake America

I am voting for any candidate but Obama. I am a fiscal conservative with moderate social leanings. I would even vote for another Democrat rather than him. He is an embarassment, he's not smart, he doesn't listen to anyone, he's stubborn, he's an elitist, he bows to former enemies, he alienates our former allies, he's lazy, he plays wayyy too much golf and takes wayyy too many vacations with that constantly vacationing wife of his AND he is dividing our country and destroying our economy and our economic standing in the world.
Theo December 14, 2011 at 07:51 pm
Larry's assessment of Obama is right on the money. I can only assume that anyone still supporting him doesn't really know who he is, where he came from, and what his true intentions are. How long will it take before you realize he isn't even close to what he and the main stream media convinced you he was. By the way, were have the multitude of 2008 OBAMA bumper stickers gone?

The scariest thing is that Bams seems to think he is our king or dictator. He finds ways of going around Congress to get what he wants. He has all these "cczars" not ratified by Congress and some of them are extreme radicals. We've got to get rid of him, which won't be easy, since I will bet the voter fraud perpetrated by the Left will be unmatched in history!

Not bad for only a billion dollars. I wonder what two billion would get us.

Larry, the problem is that the Dems are not Dems anymore. JFK would be boo'd of the podium today (Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country). Think about this...the same freedom loving, bra burning, draft card burning, leave you laws off my body, I have the right to say and do anything teenage hippies during the 60s and 70s are the VERY SAME LIBERAL CONTROL FREAKS who want to completely run our lives now via big government!!! The same people!! It was all about them then and it is all about them NOW!!! The "Leave me alone" generation has evolved into the "Leave it to me" generation!!!!
Waterford Rez December 14, 2011 at 10:05 pm
Bill, he is simply driving us off a cliff. No if ands or buts about it. It doesn't take a PhD to see it. He had ZERO experience, was not vetted, had never been told no in his life, has a chip on his shoulder, surrounded himself by incompetent bafoons, is in completely over his head, never takes blame but always takes credit and is simply the worst prez this country has had in a long time. He may go down in history as the worst ever. Take politics out of it and analyze his performance. Dismal does not even come close.
John Martin December 14, 2011 at 10:34 pm
For the first two years of his administration, he had a lock on Congress - and still was the most ineffective president since the Gilded Age. Mr. Obama couldn't even get the support of his own party in the House and Senate; there wasn't enough republicans in either chamber to stop the president from advancing his agenda. If he had the loyalty of his own party.
Before you blame republicans, you might want to do some math. Mr. Obama's frequent laments about 'partisan politics' were disingenuous. Perhaps there were a significant number of democrats who realized Mr. Obama's proposals were not in the best interests of the nation. Ms. Woodbridge, I submit to you that it is Mr. Obama's intransigence that has created many of our problems. His refusal to compromise is often followed with condemnations of the republican's refusal to come to the table. In his eyes, refusing to do what you what is political maneuvering and doing what he wants is bipartisanship.
John Martin December 14, 2011 at 10:45 pm
How much do you have to make to be in that 1%, Robert? Do you know?
$350,000 AGI using 2009 data. This puts practically every member in Congress in the 1% - including many of those progressive democrats. This may be why they talk about reform and rarely do anything about it - it keeps the masses quiet. By any measure, Mr. Obama's administration has been pretty ineffective. His stimulus plan - a failure. Cash for Clunkers? Cost the taxpayers about $24,000 per car. A new car cost about $26,000 that year. Shall we discuss Solyndra? Fast and Furious? I don't even have to tune into FOX news - even the more liberal media is running these stories now.
John Martin December 14, 2011 at 10:54 pm
The democratically led Congress failed to pass a budget - the Senate still hasn't. Thank you, Mr. Reid. Even with the majority in both chambers, Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid were not able to pass a budget. Mr. Obama had to fight his own party to pass his agenda. Even the PPACA was a battle - and there weren't anywhere near enough republicans in either chamber to has a shot of stopping it. Is that the republican party's fault too, Mr. Sheehan?
A 'do nothing' Congress? Mr. Reid has refused to bring dozens of bills that passed the House to a vote - including a budget that the House passed. Mr. Obama has gone from being a starry-eyed idealist promising hope and change to a bitter, vicious, vindictive bully that lashes out whenever his will is thwarted. The times demand leadership - and this gentleman is lacking these qualities. He's had three years to prove himself - and has failed miserably.

Obozo is an utter disaster. Gitmo still open - war in Afghanistan going strong. Patriot Act - more oppressive than ever.
National Debt doubled from $8.2 to $16.4 trillion. Economy still a catastrophe. Gasoline nearly twice what it was when Barry took office. Likewise Oil. Unemployment somewhere between 8.5 and 20% depending on which lies you care to believe. The "bright spot" of his presidency - the health bill has done nothing to slow exploding medical costs. The Administration has already gutted that travesty and the courts will finish it off. The bill was written by Big Pharma and Insurance Companies. Attorney General suing states over laws to limit ILLEGAL immigration, but not a single prosecution over the looting of banks. Obozo has achieved the seemingly impossible - made many of us long for the good old days of Bush/Cheney.

Elections are term limits ,SHEEP are what cancels out term limits. If people keep voting parties then it will continue. The only way to get term limits is THEY (congress)would have to vote for them(never happen). They vote their own raises.healthcare laws or conduct so how will it ever change?
