Patch's Poll: Would You Have A Beer With Gov. Malloy?

Latest Quinnipiac poll shows Conn. residents like to governor as a person, but aren't so crazy about the job he's doing. Take our poll and add your thoughts in the comments.

A Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday shows that while more folks in Connecticut like Gov. Dannel Malloy as a person, fewer like the job he is doing as the state's chief executive.

Forty-seven percent of registered voters questioned said they like the governor as a person, while 17 percent don't.

"The same poll showed 44 percent of registered voters disapprove of the job that he's doing, while 37 percent approve. In March, Quinnipiac found 45 percent disapproved of the job Malloy was doing, compared to 44 percent who approved," the Associated Press reported.

Roy Occhiogrosso, Senior Advisor to the Governor, released the following statement regarding today's Quinnipiac University poll.

"We have tried to be consistent in not saying much about polls because...what's there to say?  Polls come and go, numbers go up and down.  The Governor always does what he thinks is best for the state and the right thing to do."

What do you think? Do you like the governor as a person? Take our poll and add your thoughts in the comments.

He kept his criminal son out of prison... You can ask him about that over a beer.

I would because I would ask him how Connecticut can do more to attract more folks to work in the news media. As newspapers are failing, how can the state support online news services so that reporters can continue to cover state government, feature stories etc. I would think the governor would want to support media outlets, even if it is only to make him look good.

"at least the governor is TRYING to do SOMETHING. Even if it's wrong that's better than nothing." - What kind of logic is that!?! I'm sure some people 79 years ago today thought the same way when the gestapo was formed. It took 12 1/2 years and 70 million lives to fix that train of thought.

I'd be more thrilled to have a drink with the next governor of Connecticut, Tom Foley.
