Patch's Poll: Are You Working Labor Day?

It’s a holiday to recognize working people by giving them a day off, yet there are still people who have to clock in today. Are you one of them?

On Monday, Americans will celebrate Labor Day, a federal holiday that started in the late 19th century with protests by union workers.

It’s also a day in which its significance has changed over the years, as noted by businessdailynews.com, which explained how many Americans think of it as an official end to summer rather than a holiday for workers.

And, while office staff, corporate employees and government workers all get the day off, there still are thousands of Americans who will clock in.

Super markets, department stores, restaurants and bars have been opening their doors on Labor Day in recent years, .

Are you one of those employees? Are you working on Labor Day? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.
