Patch's Poll: Does Malloy Deserve to be One of the 5 Least-Liked Governors?

Does Gov. Malloy deserve to hold this dubious distinction? Only 33 percent of voters in a recent PPP poll approve of the job that the governor of Connecticut is doing, according to the New Haven Register.

Gov. Dannel Malloy has one of the worst approval ratings among U.S. governors in a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, according to the New Haven Register.

A statement released by the organization shows that 33 percent of voters approved of him while 51 percent of voters disapproved. Only North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue, Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett had worse ratings.

Only 52 percent of Democrats, 25 percent of Independents and 15 percent of Republicans approve of the job Malloy has been doing since elected into office. Malloy advisor Roy Occhiogrosso told the Register that the governor "always tries to do what he thinks is in the best interests of the people of Connecticut" despite his approval rating.

. Forty-four percent of voters approved of his performance, while 45 percent of voters disapproved. This poll gave him the highest approval rating in a Quinnpiac poll since taking office in January 2011.

OK guys, here's a great story that I read just this afternoon about a city that was past it's prime that reinvented itself and, through reduced taxes, have created new businesses and jobs, and lowered unemployment! (Access link below.) Too bad none of the thick headed Dems in this state would actually do something similar! HEY DAN MALLOY, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, THIS IS HOW YOU CREATE ECONOMIC GROWTH, BY REDUCING TAXES AND CREATING A BUSINESS FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT WHERE BUSINESSES WANT TO SPEND MONEY!!! READ THE ATTACHED ARTICLE, DAN!!! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/pittsburgh-reinvents-itself-hollywood-film-094000471.html

Spiff: Don't confuse the Democrats who believe taxes are the solution to everything with your suggestion on reading on business subjects as this creates utter confusion and dispair to their core values. Democrats are one trick ponies (taxes, more taxes, taxes on taxes. mother of all taxes, etc). Again, please do not ask them to read anything unless its a Mad comic book or the Socialist Manifesto, or "How to Run the Greek Economy." If you ask a Democrat to read the Wall Street Journal, Barrons, or any publication that does not have a comics section, or articles by Paula Dean on how to make ranch dressing, or a sign up section to join ACORN and the SEIU union they get highly agitated and then tax nuns for praying. In the Governor's mansion. and CT elected official offices the Wall Street Journal, Barrons, and all business publications are used to rap fish heads exclusively..

Well Ron, if our leaders are too thick headed to do what is right for our state, hopefully we can educate enough vtoers to vote them out next time. Until we get new leadership at all levels of government, CT will continue to waste away!

I thought NY was worse than CT for business yet you just credited the state with supplying CT's wealth. To be factual CT is home to several hedge funds in Fairfield County that are responsible for higher incomes in the Stamford/Greenwich metro area. However, you should familiarize yourself with median HH income in all counties. It is true that Fairfield County is the wealthiest, but CT still maintains a very standard across all counties with the exception of Windham. CT is far from destitute so please stop trying to scare readers of The Patch to believe that CT is on the brink.

Spiff: What incentive would Molloy have to make the State competitve and a place for our children to graduate from college and get good jobs without being taxed into oblivion,, CT kids have voted with their feet and leave the State at a higher percentage of any state in the union for the last decade. Molloy has an army of 50,000 current State workers and 50,000 retired sate workers who form his biggest voting block, and as union protector the greatest voting block for Democrats nationwide Molloy has rewarded State workers with no lay off policies and benefits a Harvard graduate in physics would envy. What he got in return for no layoffs and raises for the next 4 years is a Union Suggestion Box travesty that was purported to save the State $ 300,000,000. Obviously all State tazpayers also supported this travesty and elected this tax machine. It isn't a matter of being thick headed. It is a matter of protecting your interests at all costs and Molloy as such fails and that is why the polling that shows him as in the worst of the country as an elected official and as a leader is accurate to the destruction of the working class and all people working and toiling in the private sector. On that subject do you no anyone in the private sector other than in Greece that has been promised not to be laid off ?
