UPDATED: Body Found At Bluff Point Was Woman Who Has Been Tentatively Identified

Investigation continues and an autopsy is planned.

Police have tentatively identified the woman whose the body was found in the water at Bluff Point Saturday, the Associated Press reported early Sunday.

Police are not releasing her identity pending notification of kin. The case is being investigated and an autopsy will be done, the AP reported.

Bluff Point State Park was closed Saturday afternoon after a report of a body in the water.

Witnesses said a body was removed from the water. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as well as police and Groton fire personnel responded to the scene.
