Cause of Fire on Monday Under Investigation

Sub Base Fire Department was called around 12:30 pm to 239 Ohio Ave. in Groton for fire on the exterior of the house.

The first arriving units saw fire coming from the rear of the building. The rear of the home, which is also attached to 241 Ohio Ave., sustained damage to the siding. A utility room in between the units was also damaged.

Firefighters put out the fire within 10 minutes.

New London Fast Team, Groton City Fire Department, Groton Ambulance, L&M Medic, and Groton FMO were called to the scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
