Groton City Police Seeking Help in Arson Investigation

Groton City police are seeking assistance in an investigation of a fire on Thames Street that has been ruled an arson.

A report in The Day says firefighters from Groton City responded to the fire at about 6:28 p.m. on Sept. 20. No one was hurt in the fire and fire officials reported that there was smoke coming out of the windows of the 2-1/2 story house, fire was reported in the basement.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Detective Division at 860-446-4186 or the Arson Tip Line at 800-842-7766. The Arson Tip Award offers a $2,500 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction in an arson.
