Groton Police Arrest Man For First-Degree Sexual Assault on Minor

The case has been transferred to New London's Part A Court for serious felonies.

Groton police on Tuesday arrested a Pawcatuck man and charged him with first-degree sexual assault in a case that involved a victim under age 16, according to a police news release.

Scott D. Aronson, 37, of 10 Downer St. in Pawcatuck, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 18 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child, the release said.

“The victim in this case was under 16 years of age and was known to the suspect,” the release said.

Aronson was held on a $250,000 bond. His case was transferred to New London’s Part A court for serious felonies. No further information was immediately available.
