Groton Police Chase Ends With Capture

Town and City police departments teamed up to track down and capture Lisbon man who would later be charged with heroin possession and reckless endangerment, in addition to numerous other charges.

Groton Town and City police teamed up Wednesday night to track down and capture a Lisbon man who’d taken officers on a chase, crashed his car on Bridge Street and then fled on foot after an attempted Rt. 12 traffic stop by town police, according to officers in both departments.

Groton Town Police charged 29-year-old Christopher Kotyk, of 10 Phillips Road, Lisbon with reckless driving, evading responsibility, engaging police in a pursuit, reckless endangerment, breach of peace and possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Groton Police said Kotyk has outstanding warrants from the Waterford Police Department and the Connecticut State Police, Troop E.

Police said he was held on $50,000 bond.
