Groton Town Police Searching for Suspects in Groton, New London Cell Phone Thefts

Police are looking for two adults and a young child.

From a press release issued by the Town of Groton Police Department

The Groton Town Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred on Monday at the Wireless Zone Cellular Phone Store, located in the Groton Square Shopping Center, at 220 Route 12, Groton, CT.

On that day at about 4:15 PM, a white female, a Hispanic male and a young child entered the store. While in the store, the female stole a Samsung Galaxy III cellular telephone worth $ 650.00. The female left the store alone. The male and young child left a short time later.

The entire incident was captured on store video surveillance.

The video shows the male and female and child enter the store. The female walks over to the phone display and is holding one of the phones.  The male is seen looking around watching the employees who were helping other customers.  The male and child then walk and he appears to stand between the female and the rest of the store.  This appears to be an attempt to block everyone's view.  The female then takes the display phone and quickly walks toward the door, while the man talks to an employee to distract his attention.  The male and child leave the store shortly after the female.
