It's Not A Parade Without First Responders

Firefighters, Police Officers and EMTs Are Cheered At Mystic St. Pats Parade

There are certain absolute must-have marchers in the Mystic St. Patrick’s Day parade; bagpipers and bands and all things green. But no St. Patrick’s Day parade has ever been arched without a strong presence by first responders, better known as firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians. And this the 8th year of the increasingly popular and well-attended parade – on a clear, crisp early spring Sunday – was no different.

Police color guards and officers from the Groton Police Department led the 15 division parade joining fire fighters from, among myriad others, Noank, Groton Long Point and Mystic fire departments and members from the Mystic River Ambulance Association.

And they were cheered, saltued and thanked along the way.
