Man Taken To Hospital After Being Hit By Car

Accident occurred Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m.

A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after he was struck by a car near Fort Hill Road in the area of Vergennes Court, police said.

According to a police news release, at about 2:30 p.m., the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department, Groton Ambulance, Lawrence and Memorial Paramedics and Groton Town Police responded to a report of a car v. pedestrian accident.

Emergency personnel took the man to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was not identified and his condition was not immediately available.

Police are investigating. Any witnesses to the accident are asked to call Groton Town Police at (860) 441-6712.
