Mystic Woman Charged After Alleged Incident Involving Handgun

Police Called To Home On Breezy Knoll Drive

A Mystic woman was charged Tuesday with first-degree reckless endangerment after Groton police were called to a house about a woman threatening someone with a handgun, police said in a news release.

Leslie Taylor, 27, of 60 Whittle Street in Mystic, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal attempt to possess narcotics, breach of peace and interfering with an officer, according to a news release.

The release said police were called shortly after noon to a house on Breezy Knoll Drive, in the Mystic section of Groton, for a report of a woman threatening another person with a handgun.

The woman had left before officers arrived, the news release said. Officers then investigated and went to a residence on Whittle Street, and found the woman's vehicle. They established a perimeter around the house, and two people inside quickly surrendered, the news release said.

"Upon entry in the house, the officers located a semi-automatic handgun on a kitchen table," police said.

William Stoner, 42, of 304 Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook, was charged with interfering with an officer in the incident.

Taylor and Stoner were released after posting bonds. Both are scheduled to appear in New London Superior court on April 19.
