Police Arrest Student at Grasso Tech on Drug Charges

Student was attempting to sell marijuana to another student, state police said.

State police arrested a 17-year-old student at Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical High School last week on drug charges, according to the state police log.

On Jan. 24, police said a teacher took a potato chip bag from the student, which containing a small package of what the teacher believed was marijuana.

"The juvenile student was attempting to distribute the marijuana to another student," the police log said. Police investigated, then arrested and charged the student, who was not identified because of his age, with possession of a controlled stubstance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

The student was given a court date in Waterford Juvenile Court.
