Police Arrest Two in Drug Trafficking Investigation

Groton Narcotics Unit is investigating drug sales in and around area motels and hotels.

 

Groton police confiscated crack cocaine and arrested two New Haven men after an investigation of drug trafficking in and around area motels and hotels, town police said in a news release Wednesday.

Jose L. Rivera, 24, of 187 Blatchley Avenue in New Haven, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Luis Vargos, 29, of 740 Russell St., in New Haven, was charged with accessory to possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Both were held on $10,000 and will appear in New London Superior Court Thursday.

The Groton Narcotics Unit is investigating narcotics trafficking in and around area motels and hotels.  Police are asking anyone with information about drug activity in town to call (860) 441-6712.
