Police Officers Ride With Students To School

Event was held to promote bike safety.

Groton Town Police Chief Michael Crowley, two detectives and investigator Kelly Crandall rode with about 25 third-graders to school on Friday in an event to promote bicycle safety.  

The group rode from Sutton Park to Claude Chester Elementary.

Safe Kids New London County donated 50 bicycle helmets for students in the third grade. It was the first time the bike riding event has been held.

“They had fun, they really did,” Crandall said of the officers. “They had a good time riding with the kids.”
