Police Seeking Man in Armed Robbery at Walgreens in Groton

The robbery took place at the store on Long Hill Road shortly after midnight Thursday.

 

Groton police are investigating an armed robbery in which a man wearing a black hooded jacket and ski mask displayed a knife at the Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Long Hill Road shortly after midnight Thursday, according to a news release.

Police said they were called to the store after the man, described as wearing the jacket, blue jeans, mask, glasses, gloves and black shoes entered the store and demanded money, the release said.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money, then fled on foot, police said.

There were no customers in the store at the time, and no one was hurt during the robbery, police said. Groton Lt. John Varone said the store reported the robbery and images were captured on video.
