Report Of Body In Thames Determined A False Alarm

Large Chunks Of Debris Found, No Body

Groton City Fire Department was called a little after 11 a.m. to search for a possible body in the Thames River. A call from a Master Chief from the Groton navel  base was driving down military highway and thought he saw a body in the river. The Coast Guard, and Navel Police was also called to help. After searching the water and the shore for an half hour and not finding anthing the City Fire Department called the search off after finding nothing but debris in the river.
