Waterford Police Searching For Alleged Crystal Mall Voyeur

Police say man was trying to plant a camera in a mall changing room.

A press release provided by the Waterford Police Department:

The Waterford Police Department is investigating two separate incidents at the Crystal Mall, having occurred within the last month, of similar suspicious conduct.

On September 8 and again on September 29, 2012, Waterford Police were contacted to respond to the Crystal Mall for complaints of voyeuristic behavior.

Both incidents occurred within clothing stores, in which the subject is said to have attached a small camera/ digital recording device (similar to an iPod) on the top of his sneaker, then walked into the fitting room and stuck it underneath the fitting room doors.

Upon being confronted, the subject fled the scene. He is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, bald, 6’0”, 200 lbs, wearing glasses. The police were able to obtain video surveillance footage of the subject.

Any person(s) who may have information regarding these incidents, or know the identity of the subject in the video, are asked to contact the Waterford Police Department by calling the main telephone number 860-442-9451 (and refer to case # 2012-01780 or #2012-02034).
