Couldn't Wait To Get it. Now, It's Got To Go. But Where?

Curb that Christmas tree? Hit the beach with it? Or the dump?

Christmas is over and the tree is down. Now what?

Well, there are plenty of creative suggestions for tree disposal and recycling ideas from sites that feature everything you ever wanted to know about Christmas trees including bird feeders (yeah, right?) and beach erosion barriers.

But for most of us, we just want to dispose of the tree in a safe, quick, and hopefully ‘green’ way. The town public works department suggests residents contact their individual fire districts or trash haulers to check about curbside pickup.

Or, folks can bring their live tree free of all decoration (especially tinsel) to the Flanders Road transfer station during regular hours – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no time limit to bring the tree in, according to public works.

For those of you (us) that have a problem letting go, make sure the tree is still well-watered and 'fresh' or it will be a serious fire hazard!
