Election Day in Groton City

Monday May 6 is election day in the City of Groton. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Full slates on both sides of the aisle for Groton City Council and a mayoral showdown may make for an interesting election day.

Polling locations are the Groton Municipal Building, at 295 Meridian St., and at West Side Middle School, at 250 Brandegee Ave. from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Monday, May 6 election.

Republican James Streeter seeks to oust incumbent Democrat Mayor Marian Galbraith. Streeter, currently a Groton Town Councilor, is a former city deputy mayor.

Democrat Galbraith is a former city councilor and deputy mayor before being elected mayor in 2011.
