Groton Town Councilors Sworn Into Office

The Groton Town Council, including three new members, was sworn into office Tuesday night. Newly-elected Councilor Heather Bond Somers was unanimously elected mayor.

 “We have a wonderful council with lots of experience, and I’m very excited to be a part of it and I’m honored to have this position,” Bond Somers said.

and was chair of the Economic Development Committee from 2003 until 2009.

The councilors who were sworn in Tuesday are: James Streeter, Harry A. Watson, Bill Johnson, Frank O’Beirne, Jr., Bruce S. Flax, Deborah Peruzzotti, Heather Bond Somers, Dean G. Antipas and Rita M. Schmidt.
