Nice try Congress! You can't outsmart the American people!

Once again, Congress tries to take your rights away in order to protect themselves.

Ever wonder who was paying paying for all those political attack ads? Well, you could always go to your local TV or radio station, ask to look at  their political ad files, and by law, they will let you see the information. Most are paid for by very patriotic sounding organizations, but have little or  nothing to do with being a true patriot. You can then pay for copies of the information, take the data home and find out who sits on the board and other interesting information about these "patriotic" organizations. WHO HAS THE TIME FOR THIS? The FCC has decided to modernize the process and asked all TV/Radio stations to put their political ad information on-line for citizens to browse. Sounds like a no brain-er right?   Well, guess who is scrambling to oppose this...yep...your own US Congress! Members of both houses and parties are trying to fast track legislation to keep you from seeing who is paying for these ads! They want to make it  hard, if not impossible  for you! Thankfully, Americans are smarter then Congress gives them credit for. A media watch group call Pro Publica (www.propublica.org) is enlisting the aid of citizens to go to their local TV/radio stations, get the data and electronically send it Pro Publica who will organize it and make it search-able. Isn't it a shame that we, the people, have to make and end run around our politicians. Isn't it a shame that members of both parties are slowly perverting the constitutional rights of its citizens?  I FOR ONE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
