The Board of Education met in executive session Tuesday to talk about potential candidates for the interim superintendent position, but did not interview anyone or make a decision.
A list of potential candidates was not released. But the board would like to fill the interim job, currently held by , Board Chairwoman Kirsten Hoyt said.
“That is the hope,” she said after the meeting Tuesday evening.
At the time the board choose Collins, it looked at three other candidates: Collette Trailor, who served as interim superintendent in districts including Griswold; Mark Winzler, who served as interim superintendent in Rocky Hill; and Paul Gagliarducci, the superintendent in Bozrah.
Winzler was already working in another district, and Gagliarducci was unable to take the job under his contract.
The board interviewed Collins and Trailor at the time, then hired Collins.
Collins has been filling in for Superintendnent Paul Kadri, who was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation of his treatment of employees.
That investigation was made public last week, and the board voted Aug. 30 to notify . Once that notification is received by Kadri's lawyer, he has 20 days to request a hearing.
