Groton Reacts To Paul Kadri's Firing

Residents express relief, anger and sadness over the ordeal involving the former superintendent.

Residents this week expressed relief, but also sadness over the negative impact that the 10-month ordeal leading to Superintendent Paul Kadri's dismissal had on the Groton school system.

Kadri's clash with his former employees and the Board of Education played out over many months, when he was placed on administrative leave in May and formally fired Tuesday following an arbitrator's report.

The arbitrator dismissed the accusation of moral misconduct against Kadri but concluded he threatened and abused his subordinates and found suffiicent cause for the school board's termination decision.
