Groton School Board Schedules Meetings on Middle School Consolidation

The first meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Fitch Middle School.

Editor's note: The Groton Superintendent's office released this announcement today:

The Groton Board of Education is very interested in getting input from the community regarding their decision on how to proceed in the consolidating of middle schools from 3 facilities to 2.

Rather than having a forum that only allows public speaking, the board is asking community members to come to one of the three sessions and participate in breakout strategy sessions.

Information will be gathered from these sessions to create a survey that will be sent out to parents and made available for anyone in the town to participate.

The data from the survey, along with the meetings will provide the Board with helpful feedback in making a decision that is in the best interest of the students and community.
