Photos: Behind The Scenes During Picture Day

West Side Middle School Students Go Through School Year Tradition

Film and miniature combs are no longer the hallmark of school picture day. The professional photo studios have kept pace with the digital technology and have streamlined the process so well that 350 kids can be photographed and catalogued before lunch.

The DMV would be wise to drop in and take notes.

A couple of things have stayed the same, however. Students still aren't allowed to see their picture after it's taken, the photos are a visual history of current-day hair styles and they record the day's "must-have" accessories and the trendiest clothes that year.
