Northeast Academy Celebrates Spree Day

Fifth graders stayed home this year.

In past years, fifth graders at Northeast Academy went to the Museum of Science in Boston at the end of the year.  The trip was two and a half hours there, a couple of hours in the museum, two and a half hours back, and it was expensive.

This year, they stayed in town. The students enjoyed the day at the Mystic YMCA, checked out an obstacle course, a moon bounce and swimming, then ate lunch and returned to school later for games, snow cones and karaoke.

"We were looking for something that would get more of our money's worth," said fifth grade teacher Amy Marcotte. "It's been wonderful."
