Odessa Glaza Gets Good Citizen Award

The Anna Warner Bailey Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution presented the awards to five area high school students on Nov. 14.

Fitch High School senior Odessa Glaza was the winner of one of five Good Citizen Awards presented on Nov. 14, 2013, by the Anna Warner Bailey Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Alicia Martin, a New London resident and a student at Ella T. Grasso Technical High School, also was honored.

  • Jessica Morgan of North Stonington, Wheeler High School                           
  • Alicia Martin of New London, Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical High School
  • Odessa Glaza of Noank, Fitch High School
  • Annie Knizeski of Stonington, Stonington High School
  • Lori Ashley Donovan of Gales Ferry, Ledyard High School

Each high school chose a student committed to community service to receive the Good Citizen Award. The school provided the student’s transcript, two references, and an essay written by the student on a topic chosen by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. 

Each student received a certificate, card, and pin. Three judges (non-DAR members) will select one of the five students for entry in the state competition.
