Schools Draft Capital Plan Allocates More Than $750,000 for Enhanced Security

And nearly $1 million would go to school repairs, renovations and asbestos abatement, according to a report in The Day

A near $2.2 million draft capital plan for Groton schools includes more than $750,000 for new and increased security measures, according to a report in The Day.

In addition to enhanced security measures, the plan calls for early $1 million to be spent on asbestos abatement, heating, lighting and roof repairs at various district schools, according to The Day.

A capital improvement plan draft suggests $2.16 million is needed for the next fiscal year of which more than $750,000 would be allocated for security. The plan was presented to the Groton Board of Education Monday night, The Day reported.
