VIDEO: Environment Of Acceptance Prepares Fitch Students And Staff For Move

Fitch Middle School is scheduled to close at the end of the year but past experience has prepared students and staff for the change.

It was built in 1928 and was once the town's high school, then it was combined with a nearby elementary school and converted to a junior high. Later, it was turned into a middle school and after the students are moved out at the end of the school year in June, it will serve as "swing space" and may host some of the town's operations while the school district undergoes reorganization, according to Wes Greenleaf, the buildings and grounds director.
