Groton Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations our


GEMS (Groton Elementary Middle School) Cross Country Invitational


Sunday, October 14, 2-4 PM at Washington Park in Groton. 


This event is free of charge to all participants.


Open to all New London County school students. Students in 3rd – 8th grades can represent their school and compete in a distance of .8 miles for elementary school students (3rd - 5th grades) or 1.5 miles for middle school students (6th - 8th grades).  Pre-registration is preferred.  


Race day registration and check-in begins at 1 PM and closes at 1:45 PM.  Course walk-through is done at 1:25 PM and 1:40 PM.  Trophies are given to the top school in each division and medals to the top three finishers in each grade.


Registration is accepted by mail (form can be downloaded at grotonrec.com), in person at the Recreation office (27 Spicer Ave, Noank, CT) and also on-line at grotonrec.com/discover, be sure to indicate your child’s school name, child’s grade, and t-shirt size (child or adult S, M, L, XL). 


Call the Recreation office at 860-536-5680, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with any questions regarding this event or any programs we are offering this Fall or Winter.
