Groton Residents Eligible for Ledyard Youth Wrestling

The program is open to boys and girls in grades 1 through 8.

Ledyard Parks and Recreation has made their youth wrestling program open to all Groton residents, thanks to the community relationship between the Groton and Ledyard Parks and Recreation departments. Groton Parks and Recreation does not currently offer youth wrestling among its programs.

“Over the past couple of years we have had numerous kids from Groton participate in our program,” said Alan McGowan from Ledyard Youth Wrestling. “Judging by the number of wrestlers that return each year, I think it has been a rewarding experience for all participants.”

The program is open to boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. Practices are held Monday and Thursday from 5:30-7:00 pm beginning December 9. Practices are held at the Ledyard High School bomb shelter. There is a registration fee of $62.00 per child, registration begins September 3 on ledyardrec.org.
