Saturday's Powerball Jackpot Grows to $317 Million

The jackpot is big but remember to play responsibly.

A press release from the CT Lottery

With the recent Powerball win in Groton just last month, people are feeling lucky-by-proximity and the growing jackpot for Saturday's drawing has got our imaginations in overdrive as we spend that hard-won cash.

The current Powerball jackpot has grown to $317 million for the Saturday drawing and the Connecticut Lottery Corporation reminds consumers across the state to "Play Responsibly" and "Know Your Limits."

"While Lottery games are fun and entertaining, it is important that consumers use good judgment when playing games of chance," stated Anne M. Noble, President and CEO of the CT Lottery.  "The public must be conscious and aware of the risks of problem gambling, and at the Lottery we make it our priority to educate consumers about responsible play."

This CT Lottery reminder is the latest in the corporation's efforts to increase awareness of responsible play issues.  The CT Lottery is the primary funding source for the problem gambling programs and services offered by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), providing that agency with $2.3 million annually.

A 24-hour confidential problem gambling HELPLINE is available at 1-888-789-7777.

The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 31.8 based on a $2.00 play.  Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510 million.  Purchasers must be 18 or older.  The Lottery also reminds players to please play responsibly.
