‘High Times’ Scheduled to Play Washington Park Friday Night

Concerts are free and begin at 6:30 p.m.

Hopefully (if it doesn’t again rain), the Concerts in the Park 2013 series will continue Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Park in the City of Groton with the band ‘High Times’ performing.   

Described by organizers as, “one of the most popular musical groups in Southeastern Connecticut,” ‘High Times’ will be playing swing, rhythm, blues and 60’s Motown.

The concerts are free and start at 6:30 p.m. The concert series is co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.

The performers and the concert dates for the remaining summer concerts are:  Rewind, July 19; 9Teen, July 26; Jay Dempsey Band, August 9; and King Mudbug, August 23.  There is no concert on Friday, August 2, 2013, which is City of Groton Day.

The concerts are designed to be especially appealing to families for a fun, inexpensive night out. Spectators are encouraged to bring their families and perhaps a picnic supper.  The concert site also has sufficient room on the basketball court for dancing.
