City of Groton Parking Ban lifted, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.:  Parking Ban Lifted - Because the actual snowfall was less than expected, the City is lifting the parking ban originally in effect on

• Thames Street between Broad Street to School Street 
• Slocomb Terrace 
• Beckwith Place 
• Latham Street (Odd Side Only)
• Fort Street (Odd Side Only)

City of Groton snow removal parking ban on narrow streets where large accumulations of snow are difficult to clear. Parking will be prohibited on the following streets from 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21 until 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23. In addition to legal parking spaces on unaffected streets, the City has made parking available at Groton Heights School, the Municipal Parking Lot at 2 Latham Street, and at Washington Park.• Thames Street between Broad Street to School Street

• Fort Street (Odd Side Only)

Residents are reminded that vehicles in violation of the Snow Removal Parking Ban may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

Groton Public Schools will be closed Wednesday. 

Other Closings, Cancelations 

Groton Parks and Rec programs are canceled today, Wednesday, Jan. 22. except tonight’s Step Fitness class which will be held at its regular time.

Charter Oak Credit Union closing at 4 p.m.

City of Groton Parks and Rec activities canceled

Groton Senior Center closing at 4:30    

The Groton Public Library will be closing tonight at 5 p.m. due to the snow storm. Our Strategy Game Club which was scheduled tonight is cancelled as well. 

Groton Elks Lodge 2163 Event Canceled.

Accidents/Traffic/Road Condition Updates

Tuesday, Jan. 21 4:30 p.m. A plow hit a pole, no injures, but snapped pole causing backups at  Mohegan Road and Seneca Drive in Groton.
