<p>The Groton Town Police has several divisions to respond to public calls for help. The patrol division is the largest, and includes 42 officers, six sergeants and four lieutenants. Officers respond to calls about incidents including criminal complaints, traffic enforcement and motor vehicle accidents. Other police department divisions include youth, animal control, community policing, detectives and records.</p>
<p>The records division of the police department is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, not including holidays. Residents who want a copy of a motor vehicle accident report must wait three days from the time of the incident, then contact the department at 860-441-6713 to make sure the report is available.</p> <p>Michael Crowley is police chief.</p>
