S.B. Butler Elementary School
S.B. Butler Elementary is in the Groton Public School District and serves students in pre-kindergarten to grade 5. The school has about 355 students and 26 faculty. Monson S. Lane is principal. In addition to the academic curriclum, Butler focuses on character development and decision-making, and has students recite the "Respect Every Day" pledge. The school offers chorus for fourth and fifth graders and instruction in string instruments for students in grades 3 to 5, a districtwide program. Fourth and fifth graders can also learn a band instrument such as the flute, saxophone or trombone.
