Home of the USS Nautilus and an intriguing sight (there are four midget submarines on the walk outside), this historic library and museum is located next to the Groton Sub Base. Tour the Nautilus submarine for a startling view of how sailors lived while away at sea for months at a time. The library is handicapped accessible; unfortunately, the submarine tour is not, by virtue of the cramped configuration of the vessel and its steep stairs. The tour isn't essential for a good viewing experience, however: many of the exhibits don't necessitate an inside look.
