The City of Groton police department is in the muncipal building with an entrance on the building's right side. TheMore department handles criminal complaints as well as non-criminal calls such as motor vehicle accidents, medical assistance and vehicle lockouts. The department has a budget for 31 sworn officers, nine full-time, non-sworn staff and six part-time special traffic officers. </p> <p>Chief Bruno L. Giulini oversees the police force and has had the job since 2002. The department has two divisions: an operations unit for patrol officers and detectives, and a support services division that includes traffic control, parking enforcement, a dive team and marine patrol.</p>
