The association helps oversee eight tennis courts, the harbor, roads, buildings and recreational facilities in the neighborhood. Groton Long Point also has its own fire district and police department.</p> <p>Groton Long Point's board of directors runs the daily operations of the government, but any major decisions are made by the subdivision's membership as a whole.</p> <p>Bob Congdon is president of the Groton Long Point Association and head of its board of directors.</p>

Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department covers Groton Long Point and provides mutual aid to the Noank Fire…More District. The department has about 20 members and 12 active volunteers. Rescue vehicles include a pumper truck, rescue truck and rescue boat. The department responds to calls 24 hours a day but is not staffed at the fire house during the daytime.</p> <p>Douglas Perina is the Fire Chief.</p>
