Sub Base Delays Opening Friday

Non-essential personnel should report at 10 a.m. But if travel is unsafe, workers should reach out to supervisors.

From Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE) Facebook page:

Due to expected snow and snow removal operations, Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE) will delay opening until 10 a.m. on the morning of Friday, January 3.

Non-essential personnel should wait until that time to report to work. Departments and tenants will decide which of their personnel are essential based on ongoing operations, and personnel with questions should contact their chain of command.

Sailors will be in liberty status until that time, and civilian personnel will be granted administrative leave from the beginning of their shift until that time.

SUBASE cannot stress strongly enough that personnel should contact their commands/supervisors if they believe the road/weather conditions are unsafe for travel to the base.  Supervisors are encouraged to grant leave or liberty as they see fit.
